Microsoft to launch a competitor to Spotify?

I'm a huge fan of Spotify, and have just been googling to find out what's going on at the moment. came across this which seemed a bit interesting. Is Microsoft really going to launch a competitor to Spotify? Not sure the music industry would want to partner with Microsoft, ugly giant that they are. Thought others may find this interesting.

Redmond has its claws out but judging by Bale's comments it doesn't seem as if they're particularly sharp at this stage. Of course this depends largely on whether Microsoft plans to push out the service then work out a business model for it or whether it prefers to try and get everything in place from the get go. That said, the Telegraph suggests Microsoft is looking to work around similar free, ad-supported and premium monthly payment systems like Spotify so I'd say just get on with it already.
